Hydrogen production by electrolysis of brine using a source of renewable energy

Abstract: Solar hydrogen production began during the 70 with the first oil shocks. The first productions of hydrogen are thermolysis (splitting water with concentrated solar heat) and photoelectrolysis (separation of water in liquid solar cell). As Roger Billings et al, which produces and uses the hydrogen in appliances and vehicles. Hydrogen can be used as an energy storage non-toxic and transport medium. Hydrogen is produced from water using solar energy is a direct source of energy, renewable at the local level. Then use the stored hydrogen to produce heat and electricity on demand, day and night. In this study we conducted an experimental device that allows us to study the production of hydrogen by electrolysis of salt water using a source renewable energy (solar PV). We present the variation of the flow of hydrogen produced according to the voltage supplied to various salinities (10-40 g / l NaCl). We study the production of hydrogen for different salinity and evaluated by experimental results that production in a quantitative way.
